Morocco is an amazing country, and Marrakech is one of the most vibrant and lively cities i have ever visited, the colours, sights, sounds and flavours all combine to create an experience that stays with you long after you have left. The city is so inspiring, like a cave of wonders you can find treasures everywhere, incredible fabrics, jewellery and furniture are sold around the Medina, and the food is delicious and inexpensive. However, when you are visiting somewhere as busy and manic as Morocco, it is important to find somewhere where you can unwind, and Riad El-Fenn is the perfect relaxation spot. A Riad is the Moroccan version of a Villa, and in Marrakech some Riads have been turned into beautiful boutique hotels, like this one. El-Fenn really could not be in a better spot, and even though it is in the centre of the city (10 minutes from the Medina) once you have stepped into the hotel, the background rush of the city completely fades away. The hotel itself is beautiful, its owner, Vanessa Branson, has managed to capture the spirit of the city and blend it with her own modern Art collection creating a modern yet traditional setting in which you can enjoy Moroccan Spa treatments ( My sister and I definitely overindulged in the massages!), delicious food (Lamb Tagine. Amazing) and a beautiful roof top where you can watch the sunset over the city. The rooms are all different and individual, giving each guest a unique and personal experience, and are large enough that if you fancy a yoga session, you can have a class in the privacy of your bedroom! I think it is important for a Hotel to feel authentic, to feel like it fits in with the city in which you are staying, which El- Fenn does beautifully. Whether you stay at the Riad or just fancy popping in for drinks or dinner, El-Fenn is really worth a visit.
Their Instagram is stunning and definitely worthing having a look at. Check it out here
