Staying at the Beverly Wilshire was definitely one of those pinch me moments. Standing tall at the end of Rodeo Drive, it is undeniably one of the most famous hotels in the world. Warren Beatty lived there for 15 years, and Julia Roberts famously stole Richard Gere’s heart there, whilst wearing thigh high leather boots as Vivian in Pretty Woman.
A four seasons group hotel, it has everything you would expect from a 5* experience, with every aspect of the hotel screaming luxury. From the minute the doors are opened for you by the beaming doorman you never want to leave! Compared to some of the other hotels on offer in Los Angeles The Beverly Wilshire is a classic hotel, very traditionally decorated giving you get the impression that it has not changed much over the years. It does not have the same aura of cool that The W or The Andaz has, but instead has its prestige and its heritage. That is not to say it is stuffy, quite the opposite in fact! The staff are all young and attentive, incredibly helpful in a way that only people from California can be, and the hotel’s restaurant, The BLVD , offers a fantastic range of delicious food and drink.
The Wilshire is huge, so huge in fact that they offer guests a map to help them get around! Split over 2 buildings, one side is the restaurant, and the other has the gym and pool facilities. The rooms are large and comfortable (leaving the emperor sized bed in the morning was particularly difficult), as well as leaving the stunning of rodeo drive behind. The incredible thing about The Beverly Wilshire is its location, it really is the heart of Beverly Hills, and staying there, you really do feel like you are living in a movie. Immersed in the Hollywood dream.
