Daphne’s is undeniably one of the most famous restaurants in London and since it opened more than 50 years ago it has attracted people from all over the world. Recently they underwent a huge facelift courtesy of the the world famous designer Martin Brudnizki meaning that it is still one of the chicest places to eat in the UK.
Nestled in the heart of London’s Chelsea, you could be forgiven for think that it may be a tad stiff, or at least a bit pretentious. In reality the opposite is true, Daphne’s is one of the most charming and comfortable restaurants we have ever had the pleasure of eating in. Everything about the interior is perfect, the long bar leading through to the spacious dining area is light, open and exquisitely decorated. The classic (yet not outdated) design means you really get the feeling you are experiencing something special, but the friendliness of the team working there means you would never feel out of place.
We decided to stick to the lunch time set menu, which as well as being totally delicious was also very affordable (2 courses for under £30 is pretty amazing). The rest of the menu is Italian themed and seasonal, meaning that not only is the produce used fresh and local, but is also subject to change all year round. This is fantastic because it means that each experience will be slightly different and you will be eating different, delicious food throughout the year. The conservatory at the back is truly beautiful and the perfect place for a summer lunch.
