The Ivy Chelsea Garden - The Perfect Easter Experience!
The Ivy Chelsea Garden has been top of our list of places to visit since it opened last year, and today, we finally got the chance to go. Plus, seeing as its Easter, and they have put on a special 'Easter Experience', now really is the perfect time to visit. Many people had reservations when The Ivy announced that it was expanding, opening not one but 3 satellite restaurants around London. However, with each new opening they have proved that not only has this expansion done nothing to weaken their brand, it has, in fact improved it.
The front is currently decked out in a Easter themed floral extravaganza, leading you into a dazzlingly beautiful interior, which is again decorated tastefully to reflect the current holiday. From the moment you are greeted at the door you know it is going to be a luxurious experience. The team are friendly, yet not overwhelmingly so, with on point recommendations and great attitudes. The further you get away from the street, the more beautiful the restaurant becomes, a comfortable lounge leads through to a spacious dining area, and then finally, the spectacular garden (complete with a giant topiary rabbit no less).
This being London, half the garden is actually inside, but that does not make it any less special, actually quite the opposite! It is cosy, but gives you the impression of being outside. We obviously chose to eat in the garden (this is The Ivy Chelsea Garden after all!), and one look at the menu resulted in a half an hour debate about what we were going to have, everything sounded so good! We both finally settled on the Goats cheese and Kale baked egg omelette, with a Green Juice. It was absolutely delicious, and we cannot recommend it enough.
A quick peak at other peoples plates proved that ours was not the only success on the menu, with everything that came out of the kitchen looking better than the dish before (Lobster Eggs Benedict anyone?). It really is a special place, and for the experience you are getting, it comes in at a really reasonable price, with very few of the breakfasts going over 20 quid! If you are looking for a place to celebrate over Easter, with family and friends then booking is essential. Go check it out, and enjoy!
